Precious Kidz (NI) is run by mum of four, Nikki Johnston.  Having graduated from Queen's University with a degree in Physics with Astrophysics, she embarked on a successful career in science.   She experienced first-hand the benefits of baby massage following the birth of her first child, and as her family grew, her focus shifted from a scientific career, to one working with parents, babies and children.  To that end, she started to retrain, and has achieved a number of child-orientated qualifications, including certification as an IAIM (International Association of Infant Massage) Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI) in 2010, and a Blossom & Berry Baby Yoga Instructor and Angel Bear Yoga Instructor in 2012.  

 

Nikki set up her own business in 2006, as a childminder, and gradually incorporated a variety of baby, toddler and older kiddy classes into her schedule.  Currently, Precious Kidz (NI) is based in the North Down & Ards Peninsula area of County Down, where Nikki offers infant massage courses, as well as yoga and movement classes for kids up to 14 years of age.  Her role as mum, and business proprietor, has been further enhanced by her work providing classroom support to preschool and primary-age children who have special educational needs, as well as family support in the home.  This combined experience provides a fantastic platform from which to develop fun, relaxed and welcoming classes for all. 

 

As a fully qualified and experienced instructor, Nikki is passionate about supporting mental health and well being, and is always keen to add new elements to her classes. To that end, she has completed a Mindfulness Diploma, and is incorporating what she has learned into her teaching.  Given the work that she does, Nikki also has a current Access NI Enhanced Disclosure Certificate, is a member of both the IAIM and Complementary Therapists Association (CThA), and is fully insured.
